As of 01 January 2021, the UK is no longer part of the EU single market. On the EU market, the UKCA mark will not be recognised, i.e. products intended for sale in the EU27 countries must still bear a CE marking here if this is required. UKCA mark (UKCA = UK Conformity Assessed) - the new British product marking has been in force since January 2021 and applies to certain products placed on the market in Great Britain (England, Scotland, Wales). Previously, the CE mark was required for these products - now the UKCA marking applies to this market. There is a transitional period until 2022, after which only products with the UKCA mark will be accepted in the UK.

Which products does the UKCA mark apply to?

Most products covered by regulations and directives for CE marking fall within the scope of UKCA marking. The EU regulations are adopted 1:1, so technical requirements and modules of the conformity assessment procedures remain unchanged for the time being.
